Korea Trip 2015- Day 1

Time to blog about the Korea trip, here it goes;

Our (Sandra & I) flight was 8 in the morning, which means we had to reach the airport at 6.30am. Since we've already did our check-in online, we only need to check-in our luggage. The online check-in process with Cathay was quite smooth, and EXPEDIA E-TICKETS WORK. lmao, legit.

We transited in HongKong in the afternoon, where we ate again, despite having our breakfast on the plane. Popeyes there was so expensive omg. After transiting, we boarded the plane towards to SEOUL! (Finally) We landed in Seoul during the sunset; aka so nice scenery. <3

We collected our luggage and went to get an express KTX ticket heading straight for Seoul, instead at stopping at several stops like Hongdae, etc, for 6900won ($8.73). We've gotten the ticket at a student price, just show your student pass/ezlink card at the counter. The original price of the express KTX ticket was 8000won ($10.13) if I've not remembered wrongly.

And so, we walked to station, which was open air. It was so cold because it was at night and I was just wearing my pullover with shorts; I thought my legs were freezing. Anyways, the express KTX took about an hour to Seoul Station, where I walked in my shorts to the subway station. The KTX station is meant for KTX only and not the subway lines which will get you to town.

We took the subway to Jonggak station, where our first apartment is located. The subway ticket is different from the KTX one too so we had to get a single trip ticket which cost 3300won ($4.17). This is very expensive as compared to if you've have tmoney. Tmoney is a card that acts like ezlink card, you just have to top up money inside, instead of buying the expensive single journey tickets.

Once we've reached the station, we walked to our apartment in the cold..... Too cold that I took out my blanket to cover my legs from the wind. LOL. People were judging me with my blanket but hey I could have died from the cold. It was quite a short walk, but in the cold it wasn't. But hey we got to the apartment successful at the 20th floor. AHAHHAHA

I've booked it last minute at a total of $88 for two nights, which was super cheap. Means I paid for $44 for two nights, $22 for one. The location of the apartment was good, near to Jonggak Station, myeongdong, Gwanghwamum square and the palace. So lucky that we've found this apartment! The apartment is big also, with two queen sized bed and the bathroom is big, unlike our second apartment's LOL. The apartment is very clean too!

If you're interested in booking it, the apartment is this:
I think we gotten the apartment at the lowest price, because it is now $119.
But do try your luck, with the Airbnb app, putting your check-in and check-out date, there might be some dates that is cheaper than the others!

We decided that we were too tired to explore for that day, so we went to the first floor to find something to eat. But all of the stores were closing, since it was about 10pm+, we had no choice but to get some food from the convenience store. Hobo life much. We've gotten Kimbap, some drinks, Ramen and some snacks, for a total of 11,000 won ($13.92).

The kimbap is so spicy omg, what is water. We watched a replayed episode of Superman returns and that is life man. Eating spicy stuffs in the cold weather, xiao shiok. After that we washed up and went to sleep to prepare for the next day; Everland~!
